Scott A. Shelton

Managing Partner, Founder

Scott is the founder and a Managing Partner of Westgate Capital Consultants. His experience and discipline brings a seasoned perspective to our clients. With over 37 years in the financial services industry, Scott believes that in order for our clients to be successful, their needs and objectives must be clearly identified and regularly reviewed. It is the client’s specific need which determines portfolio construction. These objectives are addressed assuming only as much risk as is deemed necessary. Investing is a process not a contest.

In 1974, Scott graduated from the University of Washington, having earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History, and acquired a secondary level teaching certificate. He spent 2 years in the education field before entering the financial services industry. Working in the Seattle-Bellevue area, Scott became the District Sales Manager first for Northwestern National Life Insurance Company, and later, for State Mutual of America. In 1980, he moved back to his home town of Tacoma, and in 1986 opened The Shelton Company with his wife, Ronda. In 1999 The Shelton Company became Westgate Capital Consultants.

Licensed in the State of Washington for Life, Health and Disability insurance, Scott developed many client relationships by providing employee benefit services.
