Chief Investment Officer

Donald G. Gartlan Jr. serves as Chief Investment Officer for Westgate Capital Consultants.  He brings more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Don’s career has been centered around managing advisory programs for investment firms such as Rauscher Pierce Refsnes (now RBC Wealth Management), A.G. Edwards (now Wells Fargo Advisors), and Russell Investments where he was Director of Russell Managed Portfolios and Consulting Services.

Don’s passion is building out, managing, and delivering a structured and thoughtful process that is designed to help clients express their financial goals in their terms, understand the necessary strategies to be successful, have access to objective research, and provide reporting that keeps clients informed and on track to meet their goals. With his Series 65 & 66 registrations through LPL Financial, leads these processes for Westgate’s wealth management and corporate retirement plan clients through client meetings and investment research.

Don is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.  Additionally, he served on the Advisory Board of the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University.  Don is also the former president of the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation, which was founded to provide services and support to our Military members and their families who are struggling with post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.

Don is married to his wife, Amy, who he met at Texas A&M. They have one son Zach and enjoy living and playing in the Pacific Northwest and the town of Gig Harbor, Washington.
